Maybe you'll think that there isn't that many Russians in New Zealand - and you'd be so wrong! Leaving the motherland left a lot of us desiring real Russian dating experience; I was one of the lucky ones - I found my boyfriend in New Zealand rather easily.
Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I'm a linguist and my job is very international, so I had the chance to meet my fellow Russians from both all over the world and New Zealand. Since I'm not one of those stereotype Russian housewives who look like they can lift tree trunks and wrestle with wolves, I tossed my (naturally) blond hair and charmed him while we were having a lunch break during negotiations in Wellington.
I invited him to share a plate of borscht with me and there was a spark when we got to pancakes - it was not exactly a fairy tale encounter but it was rather romantic at a given moment. I want to say to all of you out there: Russian dating in New Zealand is possible and real, you only need to make an effort and find that special someone.
